I am a fan of dresses and I do not think that will ever change but something they are just not practical. Especially in this COVID world. What do I mean by that? Well, instead of public transport I find myself biking many more places and either a dress tends to flip up in the wind or be too long it gets caught in the chain. And with London traffic I need to be paying 100% attention to the road and other viechles, not worried about my attire. Or the practice of meeting up at a bar for a drink has turned to a drink in the park which usually involves sitting on the grass – again, not undoable but also not the best in a dress so this is where sorts and playsuits come in.
The first time I said playsuit I think Mark thought I was making it up but a romper is just a jumpsuit that ends before your knee. They are much better for warm days but still give you the ease of a one-piece dress and the movement of shorts – a great combination even if it does make going to the bathroom difficult. I picked up this cute tropical printed one from John Lewis during their Spring sale and think the blue / green colour combo is a ton of fun. Plus the six inch inseam is a great length – take a look this French Connection romper:
