Merry Christmas from a very quiet London! Christmas Eve and Christmas are two of my favorite days of the year; they are days filled with family, tradition, presents, food, and love. I am so thankful all of the people I love are in one place and I get to spend hours and hours catching up with my family. For those of you who celebrate, I hope you had a great few days leading up to today and a very, very Merry Christmas if you choose to celebrate!
This year while with my parents – which is the most important thing – Christmas will be very dissimilar to December 25th’s of past. morning to what we have been doing for 30 years – there will not be any presents, breakfast, and sing-along to the top Christmas carols. Instead of being in warm and sunny Florida my parents and I will be attending mass at Westiminster Abbey and then taking in the decorations all around London before heading to Egypt on the 26th. The older I grow the more I realize it’s not about the presents, it’s about being together with the ones you love and I am excited to meet up with my brother in Cario because then the whole family will be complete.
And as I mentioned on Instagram a few weeks ago, I ended up not getting a tree this year in London but it does not really feel like Christmas without a tree so see one above that is in London’s Covent Garden and a great shot of my parent’s Christmas tree at home below:
I will be back to the world of blogging after the 26th, Boxing Day here in the UK, but stay tuned to Instagram for updates.
Merry, Merry!
