Shop Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

It is the first of October and that means it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.   I have put together a shopping lists on BCA nearly every year since I started Sparkles and Shoes and as we kick off of the month then with some great ways to shop pink! (Though in the UK when you type in BCA the first thing that comes up is British Car Auctions – definitely NOT what today’s post is about).   Most of the roundups focus on beauty products but I have gone a bit wider and have a great assortment. 

This is not things with a pink ribbon repeated over all of it but hopefully you will agree with me and a subtle approach to shopping pink for Breast Cancer Awareness 2019.  And I tried to find a few different things this year because while companies like Bobbi Brown give a lot to the cause I do not think I have seen a round up in the last three years that has not included these Bobbi Brown Pinks with Purpose Lip Color Duo.  Without futher ado:

1 | BECCA Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder –  In support of The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign, BECCA will donate 20% of the purchase price combo set to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through June 30, 2020.

2 | Tai Mini Glass Cuff Bracelet  – 50% of the proceeds of the ice pink bracelets (set in either silver and gold) will go to Breast Cancer Charities of America. 

3 | Faith Pink Saddle Bag – 20% of the purchase price will be donated to Breast Cancer Now. 

4 | Vineyard Vines 2019 Breast Cancer Awareness Long-Sleeve Pocket Tee – Vineyard Vines will  donate 20% of all net proceeds to Bright Pink.

5 | Saucha Rose & Geranium vegan Bar Soap – Saucha will donate 5% of sales of this soap to research. 

6 | Dualit Breast Cancer Haven Toaster . -£20 from the sale of each toaster will be donated to Breast Cancer Haven.

7 | Tory Burch Fleming Convertible Shoulder Bag in Shell Pink – Tory Burch is donating 20% from purchases in their special Support Breast Cancer Research shop to Breast Cancer Research Foundation. 

8 | Papyrus Hello Gorgeous BCRF Friendship Card – Papyrus donates $.25 per card to BCRF. 

9 | APL: Athletic Propulsion Labs Limited Edition BCA  TechLoom Wave Sneakers  – “APL will donate 20% of the gross sales price for each pair of the APL Men’s and Women’s TechLoom Wave (Soft Pink) which will be sold from October 2019 throughout the year to benefit the Women’s Cancer Research Fund, a Breast Cancer Research Foundation Program.”

10 | Swell Geode Rose Bottle – For the month of October, S’well will donate 20% of the retail price of these pink styles to BCRF

In addition to these 10 great options to show I wanted to specifically call out a few brands that have entire lines devoted to the cause:

For the month of October, one of my favourite brands, Splendid, has announced that when you buy one item form the ‘Love is Splendid” capsule and the brand will give one to the NBCF in support of women with breast cancer.    And this is not just one or two items, they have 44 great pieces; from turtlenecks and hoodies to dresses and joggers.  Oh, and it is not all pink! Some of my favourite pieces are the the classic Cardi ,  the Camo Abbie Crew Neck t-shirt and the Courtside Dress.

The next collaboration is one that is near to my heart as a former swimmer.  The brand TYR has contributed over $400,000 that directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and their  research for finding a cure. To help increase that total, with every time you purchase a #TYRPink product the brand will donate up to $5 to to BCRF and you can also contribute an additional $3 at checkout.   I specifically like this cap and this tank!

And if you are shopping for the boys, I really like this Vineyard Vines Breast Cancer Awareness Micro Printed Tie and for the spots fans you can check out the BCA American Football (NFL) shop or for UK fans, the WestHam Soccer team has a whole BCA line!  Or if you want a couples thing to do during a movie night in you could get a Baby Foot Pink Ribbon Box as they are donating 20 percent of its October proceeds from the Pink Ribbon Box to the American Cancer Society.

Shopping is not the only way you can give back though!   In high school back in New York I used to participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk or here in the UK you can check out Bra Recycling here.  One of the best ways though, and it is free, is encourage friends to get an exam while we search for a cure!  But I would not be doing my friend Kathryn right unless I mentioned all of the other kinds of cancer, particularly ovarian cancer.  All cancer of it sucks.
