I never treat September 23rd as the start of fall – I treat my birthday, September 27th, as the tipping point and seeing as that is tomorrow I am finally giving in.  And since I will be attending Olympia Beauty this weekend here in London and my press pass just arrived I am 100% in the beauty mind set.  That combined with taking a look at the best of Milan Fashion Week from the past few days have inspired me to pull together my top three trends; warm eyeshadows, bordeaux lips, and cobalt eyeliner.  Take a look: 

Fall Makeup Trends - Morphe Gold Eyeshadow Palette in 35R Ready

 
(1) Chocolate and Gold Shadows I love the idea of  metallic chocolate and gold, because flat colors look too dull for evening and you need darker colors as tan’s fade. My recommendation would be to go with the Morphe Gold Eyeshadow Palette in 35R Ready, as seen above, or the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow in BETTE or I have heard good things about the BareMinerals Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette in Copper.

(2) Bordeaux Lips.  Borderline-vampire lips are hot for the season and you may recall my post from two years ago Vampy Limps for Fall and it is certainly back but just make sure to keep the rest of your makeup neutral or understated.  Here are some great options ranging from $3 to $45!

(3) Cobalt Eyeliner.   You can wear blue eyeliner. Seriously. And the best color now is deep cobalt. You may recall in 2013 I wrote a post about Blue Eyes for Spring but now make the blue a bit darker – like cobalt – and you are good to go.  I particularly love a liquid cobalt along the top lash line adn then winged out

    Not sure if I’m too old to try that cobalt blue eyeliner but it sure is spectacular. I’m also not sure I could put it on correctly but it’s worth a try.

    You are right about needing darker colors for the evening.

    The other night I was out and a friend took a photo and sent it to me and it looked like I did not even have any eye shadow on.

    I will have to try these suggestions of yours.
