On Saturday a handful of friends joined me in Little Venice for a delicious birthday brunch. I reserved a table on the outdoor patio at The Waterway and friends – both new and old – joined for a few hours of merriment. We started with a few bottles of bubbly and split the mezze platter (hummus, grilled halloumi, red pepper fetta, olives, and pita bread) as well as some delicious sashimi avocado tuna tartare.
Then for the mains everyone whether own way – some going the brunch route with the poached eggs with smoked salmon with hollandaise and others went the entree route with the Crispy Szechuan duck salad. The bubbles then gave way to iced coffee, tea, and Aperol Sprtizs which are never a bad idea in my book. After that we had a few delicious desserts with candles including the chocolate brownie, honeycomb cheesecake, and the apple tart which were all delicious.
