As I mentioned last week, we are off to Africa this weekend and eek, I am so excited. While I am usually a last minute packer – heck, I have been to seven countries in the last three months – this trip I have been a bit more diligent about and today’s post was about the very first item that made it in my suitcase.
When it comes to technology in my family, dinners are usually a three way tie between myself, my brother, and my dad with who knows about the latest and greatest. I am the only Apple user in the family so sometimes i fall behind when they get into their Samsung Galaxy’s and Google Pixels but one thing my brother and I definitely beat my dad on is our knowledge of back up chargers. That is likely only because my brother and I use our phones enough that we need a mid day charge if we are going non-stop, especially streaming Netflix or music – and thus are up on the latest and greatest.
However, my brother one this one when he gave me an Anker PowerCore 20100 – Ultra High Capacity Portable Power Bank Charger. This is definitely not the smallest model of the power bank and weights nearly a pound but it can charge my iPhone 8 at least give times on a single charge which is amazing for my weekends away or a crazy day of Instagram and Google -mapping. The only thing different about this charger than other ones I have is that you still need your power cord, in my case the cable that goes iPhone to USB but it is not too much extra to carry, in my opinion!
So if you do not have a charger, I highly recommend this one or one of the one’s Anker makes that is a bit smaller if you do not need 5x charge on one go. If you do have one, I would love to know your feels on it!

I agree with you. I adore mine and it is the same brand as yours. I never travel without it.

I have heard of this before. I need to get my girlfriend who travels in her job as a consultant a birthday present and I think that this will be the perfect gift as I will always be with her when she is away.

This looks like I must have. I travel all the time and I’m always running out of battery. Especially when I’m at the airport using the Wi-Fi. It just seems to chew it up. Great idea.

I think that this is going to be my Father’s day and graduation gift. All the high schoolers going off to college and the college grads going to their new jobs are going to need this.
Great recommendation and I need to buy one for myself too.
