Mimi Prober at New York Fashion Week

It is hard to believe that New York Fashion Week was only last month – so much has happened between now and then and before too much time gets away from me I wanted to share one memorable evening. During Fashion Week this past season I had the opportunity to attend the Mimi Prober show and even though it was one of the last shows I was able actually attend (something very tricky with my work schedule) and bring my new DSLR along to capture the show, my outfit, and one of my favorite NYFW celebrity sightings to date. 

But before we talk about celebrities and who was in the audience, the show.  The designer Mimi Prober went to the very prestigious  FIT, the Fashion Institute of Technology, and is based here in New York.  My friend Kier would love her zero-waste philosophy, something I have come to appreciate more and more, and in nearly every piece that went down the runway I noted the intricate hand crafted designs.  Take a look at some of the shots I was able to capture at her Spring / Summer 2018 collection at Skylight Clarkson Sq which mainly featured ready to wear.  

This show I was actually more concerned with taking in the garments and capturing videos on my phone (plus it was my first hour learning how to focus my new camera), so you will just have to take my word for it, it was gorgeous! And what made it even better was that than Samantha from The Samantha Show was also invited! Even though I came straight from work we were able to take a few photos outside the E! Fashion lab – the first photo above of me and the photo of Sam below! 

And my favorite photo of the evening?  Posing with J. Alexander! And yes, I was in heels but Miss J as you might know him from America’s Next Top Model is 6’5″ so he was towering over me.  Thanks Miss J for taking a photo with me after the Mimi Prober NYFW show!
