There are only a few times a year when I wish I ran one of those super famous GIF / meme accounts and today is one of those days for two reasons. First, it is the first of May and I would love to have the audience who would appreciate the Justin Timberlake Meme “It’s Gonna Be May” and second, I have seen some of the owners of those accounts get the opportunity to attend the Met Gala which is tonight in New York City – swoon! However, life lately hasn’t been too bad. I realized last night speaking to the gentleman next to me on flight back to New York City that it was my seventh flight of last two weeks – yup, a little nuts. So I have decided to share a bit about life lately.
The first two flights were two and from London for Easter weekend which you can see recaps of here and here. The third and fourth were to Florida the weekend of April 23rd to go see my parents for a long weekend. I had booked the trip at the end of 2016 not knowing how crazy the end of April was going to be but I am so happy I had the chance to go down and spend time with them. The weather was not ideal for the first day and a half but that gave my Mom and I time to get in a ton of outfit shoots and spend some quality time together, plus swimming in the rain is never a bad thing. Take a look a few Florida snaps:
The fifth flight was to San Diego on Tuesday of last week for work but I was only on land in Southern California for three hours before I boarded a cruise ship and headed North for four days. A bit odd? Yes, but an excellent and highly productive trip. If you have been around Sparkles and Shoes you will know I don’t talk about my “real job” in detail on the blog as the two are not related and I’d like to avoid a conflict of interest but take a look at a few shots from the cruise and our stop in Victoria, British Columbia.
The cruise ended Saturday morning in Vancouver and after getting off the boat I spent 24-hours in the Canadian city before heading home yesterday, flights six and seven to get back to New York. I managed to fit a ton into the weekend including a few hours on Granville Island, a long walk through Yaletown, dinner in Chinatown, dessert in Gastown, and a morning bike ride in Stanley park but as my dad will tell me, this post already has too many pictures! 🙂 Instead, there will be a separate post about what to do with a day in Vancouver so take a look in the interim only five more shots:
What have you been up to lately?

Wow. I can say that you have been all over the place. London to Florida to San Diego to Vancouver. What’s next. All of the pictures are great but the best ones is the printed dress with the sea food and the black dress.

Do you ever wake up and wonder where you are?
Also, the blue green photo of the ocean looks like it was professionally taken. Can I buy a print of it from you?
