Easter Weekend in London, Part Two

04/19/17 | England, London, Travel, United Kingdom

Just as the title suggests, welcome to the second post recapping my whirlwind weekend in London.  Yesterday I shared my first day in Londontown complete with quirky Heathrow signs, a visit to the Wallace Collection, shopping, drinks, swimming, and brunch and if you did not catch it make sure to check it out before reading the rest of today’s!  All caught up?  Excellent.  đŸ™‚ My Easter in London continued after brunch on Saturday when we went on a long walk around Regents Park and Primrose Hill which was one of my the most picturesque strolls I have been on in a long time.

The candy color town houses, the beautiful flowers, and the locals enjoying the long weekend just reconfirmed how much I love that city.   On our way home we picked up a few things from the grocery store to make lemon drizzle cake for Sunday Easter brunch which also happened to be my friend’s mother’s birthday.

After cake we got ready to go out and took a double decker red bus to Soho for dinner.  We ate at a place both my childhood best friend and my college roommate had been before and it was quite delicious and we actually shut down the restaurant – by the time we left at 11 we were some of the last in the building.   From there we headed to a few places which were quite dead with the long weekend and ended up at Archer Street where we danced the night away.

Sunday morning was a bit rough – I would have liked a few more hours sleep and day two of jet lag is usually always worse but we were up and at it again, this time heading to Chelsea for Easter brunch.  Five hours of waffles, bacon, processor, and chocolate was such a fun treat catching up with the family of one of my oldest friends, swapping travel stories, doing an Easter egg hunt in the garden, and playing a few card games.

By mid afternoon, unfortunately, it was getting near time for me to go home but we walked from Chelsea to Marylebone the long way home through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.  I had been there a few times before (here) but tried to get a few new photos.   It was an incredible Easter in London and I can not wait to go back at some time soon!

It really was an incredible trip and I have to thank my friend Esmé again for being such an incredible host! I fall in love with London a little more every time I visit and hopefully it will not be a year until the next time I am back!

Welcome back. I can tell your trip to London was a lot of fun but too short. 3 days to me is nothing but you accomplished a lot. Always nice to see your old friends. London has so much to see. How was the weather there 50F maybe. Last time I was there was 8 years ago. Thinking about another visit within the next year or two. Miami for me was all sunshine. Spent time on beach, pool, partying and visiting family/friends. I came back this morning to cold weather. Hopefully I don’t lose my tan.

What a wonderful whirlwind weekend. You should add your director/travel agent to your list of credentials. Great photos too!
