“I love New York, even though it isn’t mine, the way something has to be, a tree or a street or a house, something, anyway, that belongs to me because I belong to it.” The first time I read this Truman Capote quote I felt it really resonate. Since August I have passed Grand Central at least ten times a week on my way to and from the office and have thought at least once a week – how it would be cool to do a photo shoot there. You may have noticed a few Fashion Friday’s from inside the iconic buildings (here, here, and here) but this one really takes the cake especially since it was 9am on a Sunday morning and I got more than a few comments – some because I was blocking traffic and some for the outfit.
I had never head of the brand Young Fabulous & Broke but the name gave me a laugh and when I saw this killer black jumpsuit was on sale at Shopbop I scooped it up thinking there was about a 15% chance it would work. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I styled it with these Marc Fisher oxblood velvet heels with gold sparkle detail because I thought they complemented each other nicely and since I got them in February I had not had a chance to wear them on the blog! Take a look:
Jumpsuit | Young Fabulous & Broke YFB Clothing Jewel Jumpsuit
Heels | MARC FISHER Factor2 Two Piece Velvet Sandal (On sale, only $45!)
Lipstick | Giorgio Armani Beauty Rouge D’Armani Lipstick in Rogue 400
This black jumpsuit is very different than the first one I got last Summer but I like it equally as much, if not more. I am not sure if you can tell from the photos but the fabric is a soft jersey which basically feels like pajamas but with the keyhole and the low-cut back I think it makes for a great nighttime look. Plus you can never go wrong with pockets!
Do you own a jumpsuit?
