Welcome back to Fashion Friday! When packing for vacation I look at a few key things – the temperature, what kind of things I will be doing, and what items will pack well. I know some girls who travel with steamers and full size garment bags of carefully pressed items but I do not think I will ever be one of those! I am a huge fan of washable fabrics and items that can be easily folded into a suitcase and then put on without too many wrinkles and I have a few Ellie Kai dresses that fit the bill!
I was first introduced to the brand in the Spring of 2014 when the owner came to New York City and I had the chance to meet her and pick out a dress which I featured here. I fell in love with the brand, their materials, and the adorable patterns and have since purchased three more including this blue and white one. I packed it with me for my family trip to the Galapagos and wore it one night to dinner and a South American wine tasting.

The boat we spent a week we only had local food and that extended to the wine so I when I ordered Pinot Grigio it was from Chile instead of France or California and it was quite delicious So you can imagine when I learned one evening we would be having a South American wine tasting and the opportunity to taste a whole array of wine of Chile and Argentina and it was delicious! My favorite was actually the rose and while I found one brand I liked last summer most are not to my taste! My second favorite was a Carmenere, which is described as a a medium-bodied red, and it made since why I had not heard of it as it is almost exclusively grown in Chile! It was quite a lovely evening!
It was great to be able to try so many wines and by the end of the night I was definitely appreciate the stretch in the dress. Don’t believe me? I brought this same dress with me to Spain last year and you can see pictures of it from my travels in Barcelona here and here.
Do you have a favorite travel dress?

Happy belated St Patrick’s Day to you. Hopefully you went out to celebrate in NYC yesterday. I don’t believe in work on that day. I am Irish and I love to celebrate my day. I was in the parade, then stopped by Dorrians Red Hand, then I stumbled into the stumble Inn for a while. After that I went to Mercury Bar to have great Shepard’s Pie, then it was off to 230 5th before I went home. Great party day with my boyfriend and our friends. As for Wine tasting its so much fun. Its always a fun event to taste various different wines that I never tasted. Some are not so good but most are good to outstanding. Plus its a good social outing to meet new people. Which wine was the best for you there. I love your dress and those high heel sandals look awesome on you. Wine tasting is a dress up event for me. St Patrick’s day is a green dress down day for most.
