Let’s March into March with military jackets! I love when you search for “military jackets” the autofill option that Google gives you is from eBay and defines a military jacket as, “Military jackets generally come in neutral colors like grey, black, beige or olive green. They can be cargo jackets, pea coats, or even Michael Jackson style majorette or band jackets. Consumers can also save money by buying a fashionable military surplus jacket.” Haha, #jokes. My take on military jackets is quite different.
In my opinion, there are two kinds; green and canvas or dark and wool with buttons but far and away th epost popular are the green ones. In fact, The New York Times even published article called How the Army Jacket Became a Staple of Civilian Garb which is worth a read! As the weather gets warmer all over the country a military jacket can serve as a great layering piece for the next few months. Here are six green military jackets starting at only $41 – pick up one to layer this Spring!
Why is it when I put together a round up like this my favorite is always the most expensive one? Figures but if I had an extra $645 laying around the Marissa Webb one is speaking to me. These half dozen green military jackets are definitely the most common type though I have also had my eye on a number of alternative ones – rich navy or red wool with gold buttons. They are absolutely gorgeous but as we enter Spring they do not seem seasonally appropriate so I will save a formal write up for Fall but in case you are in the market this navy Ralph Lauren jacket or this long burgundy option from Karen Miller are both great finds!
Which of these is your favorite?
