Hello, hello from across the pond! Today I am heading to the Cliffs of Moher which might be the one site I am excited to see so make sure you are on Instagram and following me on Snapchat to see the natural beauty. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves – since arriving early Saturday morning knock on the proverbial wood I have been so lucky all four days I have been in Dublin it has been sunny. This is such a drastic change from not only the overcast sky but the rain they are famous for. As one tour guide told me, I any day you can see your shadow in Dublin is a good day. With only three days in the city, as I spent Monday in Waterford, I have fit in a great deal.
Greetings From Dublin!
On the first day I took a walking tour starting from city hall and then winding our way through Dublin Castle, Dubhlinn Garden, Christ Church Cathedral, Temple Bar, and Trinity College before exploring on my own. On the second day I started with a tour of the famous Kilmainham Gaol prison, wandered through Phoenix Park and fed the deer, took a tour of the Chester Beaty Library, and then visited the Guineas Factory. Monday, as I mentioned was spent in Kilkenny and Waterford, but by 8pm I was back in Dublin.
Tuesday was equally as busy a tour of Trinity College, the Book of Kells, shopping on Grafton Street, a visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral (Dublin), my first whiskey tasting, and dinner with an old colleague. Even typing all of that, golly, no wonder my feet are tired. Here are some of my favorite photos thus far from Dublin;
Yes, that is a ton of photos from Dublin all together that don’t really fit together but that is the point – I have been up to so much! Don’t worry, all of these adventures will get their own blog posts in time but just wanted to make sure, in case you aren’t on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or Snapchat, you knew I was alive. Hi Grandma!
And even though I am in Ireland I was still able toggle the settings to the United States and USD dollars to shop the big Fall Shopbop sale. On the top of my list are these black booties, this off the shoulder top (I love the windowpane print), these over-sized sunglasses, and and based on the weather forecast for this Winter perhaps this insane parka. I may have gone a little splurge happy but hey with 25% off order under $500 and 35% off orders more than that how could you not? The full details are here but there are two big takeaways: shop now as the sale ends Midnight Friday October 14th PST and the promo code is “MAINEVENT16”. Happy shopping!
