I love trying new places to eat in New York City, especially when they are in walking distance from my apartment. Last weekend I dined at the Upper East Side location of NYC burger hotspot, BareBurger, and remembered to bring my camera along to capture the evening. Christina first introduced me to the the New York based shop a few months ago and since have found a love for the fresh, local, and organic produce that really make their burgers shine.
While sipping on glasses of white wine we decided to start with the Cali Fresh salad at the waitresses recommendation. Even though we ordered a small a large bowl of baby kale with cauliflower hummus, red quinoa, grape tomatoes, watermelon radish, red ions, alfalfa, and lemon tahini dressing arrived and proved a very refreshing appetizer.
As we scraped the last leaves onto our forks the burgers arrived Christina decided to go with the turkey served on collard greens with mushrooms, spinach, and pickles while I chose the bison burger with Amish blue cheese, spinach, red unions, and mushrooms on a whole wheat sprout bun. While we are both watching our girlish figures and often coordinate our ClassPass workouts, a trip to Bareburger really does need a great side and we chose the sweet fries. I have a hard time taking food photos at restaurants toying between wanting to use the flash to get the best shot, especially in a place with dim lighting, and not wanting to annoy friends I am eating with or other patrons with the flash or the overly staged shot. This was my happy medium:
Delicious food and great company, see you again soon Bareburger!
