A lot of my wardrobe is black. A lot. It goes with everything. it is slimming, and it is the perfect foundation for any look. As you saw on Instagram and on Tuesday I spent President’s Day weekend in Naples and Sarasota. During this trip both my brother and I brought friends down to Florida and on Saturday night for our fancy dinner I wore my favorite dress of the season – also seen here. Granted, it is a very wintery dress with the thick fabric and velvet-like polka dots, not to mention black, but I made it work with gold accessories and a bold pop of pink.
And then a close up of the accessories because I do not think the shots above do them justice. I recently have started wearing jewelry on both wrists and I like that whichever way I turn in photos, one is always showing! I paired one of my favorite Kate Spade watches with a C. Wonder bracelet from a few seasons ago.
These pictures were taken right outside the entrance to the Club at Barefoot Beach where we had dinner. I have been there before for Thanksgiving in 2013 and in 2014 and is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Naples. After photos with one of the pretty water colors as you enter I enjoyed a delicious salad and one of the many, many reasons I love the spot is the palate cleansing sorbet between courses. For my entrée I chose the weekly fish special, aptly named “From The Sea”. It was a seafood aglio olio, lobster, shrimp, scallops, clams and mussels, fresh garlic and flat leaf parsley tossed in olive oil and angel hair pasta topped with lightly seasoned bread crumbs and grilled asparagus.
It was so, so, so good. Yes, I do say that about the majority of the food that I eat but think about it, one, I would not put it on the blog if it was bad food and after 25 years, I have figured what I like to eat and what is good. For dessert we all shared a key lime torte. It was not as good as the key lime pie at the Fish House but it was quite good and with six forks it was gone within in a minute.
