Kick Starting Your Goals

06/04/15 | assorted

Everyone has goals. Small goals for the day or large boats working on your marriage or being a better daughter. Small goals, medium goals, large goals, everyone has them but what are we going to do about them? Well I will start with quoting from the movie that seems to be everywhere right now  “let’s start at the very beginning it’s a very good place to start.” Doesn’t Julie Andrews always know best?

All kidding aside to start at the beginning I set goals is one of the hardest things is to get the ball rolling and throwing it back to high school physics (#tbt) and Newton’s First Law, the law of inertia, an object in motion (or goal) will stay in motion, traveling in a straight line, forever, until something pushes or pulls on it.  What am I trying to say?  It is easier to keep going with a goal than to jumpstart it.

I have found one of the best ways is to look at quotes that truly inspire me, not simply images that I see on Pinterest add to my quotes board and move on, but quotes that I read and that that stick with me and a day or two later or week or two. Those are the kind of inspirational quotes that can truly kickstart a goal.  I read a quote a  few weeks about that I have been circling back to,  quote from boxer Muhammad Ali said and Nike used in an ad. It hits home:

Inspirational Quotes - Impossible is Just a Big Word Nike

If this was a real world conversation my reaction would be “yes, just yes”.  But since this is a one way dialogue.  I love this quote. I actually love most of the quotes Nike uses in their advertising but this one hits home.  And there are three goals on my list that are going to be kickstarted now.

What motivates you to complete your goals?
