The show is in its 11th season and yes, it is still on. There is something about Doctor McDreamy that I just can not let go of. It is true, I do not tune it on every week at 8pm like I used to (and who remembers when it used to be at 9pm?) and have been known to let a few episodes stack up in my Hulu Plus queue before I get to them but I do watch it. After 238 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, and it’s crazy that I have watched 238 episodes of anything, there are a handful of quotes that keep me coming back for more.
I miss Christina Yang and wonder how long the show can keep going without one of the central characters and with another who lives across the country. And then you have the fact that George is dead, Izzy ran away, McSteamy is dead, and Lexi is dead. Let’s not talk about season 11, instead, let’s talk about the episode that got me hooked. My favorite episode is Season 2, Episode 5 called “Bring the Pain”. It is the one where Meredith asks Derek to choose her over Addison with the gut wrenching line, “So pick me. Choose me. Love me.”.
If there had not been any other scene over the course of the hour it would probably still be my favorite episode but as an added bonus it is the heart in the elevator episode. According to IMDb, the episode with Meredith’s “Pick Me, Choose Me, Love Me” speech was written by the show’s creator Shonda Rhimes and that is probably why I love Scandal as well, she is brilliant. Besides this episode there are few others that have amazing quotes:
“At some point, you have to make a decision. Boundaries don’t keep other people out, they fence you in. Life is messy. That’s how we’re made. So you can waste your life drawing lines… or you can live your life crossing them. But there are some lines… that are way too dangerous to cross. Here’s what I know: If you’re willing to take the chance, the view from the other side… is spectacular.” – Meredith Grey, Season 1, Episode 2
” I am Preston Burke, a widely renowned cardiothoracic surgeon. I am a professional. And more than that I am a good and kind person. I am a person that cleans up behind myself. I am a person that cooks well. And you, you are an unbelievable slob. A slovenly, angry intern. I am Preston Burke. And you, you are the most competitive, most guarded, most stubborn, most challenging person I have ever met. And I love you. What the hell is the matter with you that you wont just let me? ” – Preston Burke, Season 2, Episode 18
“Do you know what kind of miracle it is that Derek is who he is? Do you know how rare it is that someone like him even exists? He’s still an optimist! He still believes in true love and magic and soul mates. He’s waiting for you. And if you don’t come back from this, you will change who he is.” -Denny Duquette, Season 3, Episode 17
“My dad died when I was nine. In a car accident. I was with him in the car. While we waited for the ambulance, I tried to keep his chest closed so he wouldn’t bleed so much. When he died, my hands… felt his heart stop beating. That’s why I do this. It’s also why I win all the contests.” – Christina Yang, Season 5, Episode 7
“You never know the biggest day of your life is the biggest day. Not until its happening. You don’t recognize the biggest day of your life. Not until you’re right in the middle of it. The day you commit to something or someone… The day you get your heart broken. The day you meet your soul mate. The day you realize there’s not enough time… because you want to live forever. Those are the biggest days. The perfect days.” – Izzy Stephens, Season 5, Episode 22
If you have never watched Grey’s, which might be hard to do as it has been on the air for a decade, the first ten seasons are on Netflix.
Are you a Grey’s fan?

Shonda Rhimes loves to kill a major character off. I stopped watching when McSteamy died. It’s the first time I ever quit a show like that. I figure I’ll finish it eventually. It was great for so long then she went and pissed me off. Ha!

I am still a diehard Grey’s fan! I have watched every single episode…even when there was a rough season or two. I still watch the seasons over and over on Netflix. My personal favorite episode is the one where Meredith gets her appendix taken out. But I think my favorite moment in an episode was Derek’s proposal to Meredith in the elevator

Oh I am most definitely still a Grey’s fan! Somehow I just can’t seem to stop watching because it is just that addictive. Shonda is my idle and I freaking love her to death! I miss Christina so much but the show keeps going even after they kick off so many amazing characters. I love all the quotes you have chosen 🙂

Raises hand, my husband and I still watch it, pretty much every Thursday night we are at the TV watching. DVR’d and an hour later so we can skip commercials of course. It was one of the first shows we started watching as a married couple, and we STILL quote the Chose me, Pick Me…they played the first episode again before lasts weeks new episode. Oh the memories.

I still watch it too, I’m definitely not as addicted as I used to be, but I still like it. I’m obsessed with Scandal and I really hope they pull things together because thesecond half of this season has been a choppy mess!
