I love the look of beautifully layered necklaces. Dainty pieces of different shapes and sizes that when combined fall elegantly and create a big impact. The only problem is, I still have still yet to figure out a way to layer necklaces where I do not look like a complete poser. The shot on the left is of a necklace I received as a gift from my mother last Spring and while I wear it occasionally I feel like it looks to purposeful. You can tell that it is one necklace with symmetrical medallions that are evenly spaced. Do not get me wrong, it is a pretty necklace, but not quite what I am going for.
Some girls, Aimee Song, I am thinking of you, seem to just stack on the strands and make it look effortless. Well I have given up, but not for lack of trying, and have decided if I am going to work with this trend I am going to go with pre-made option. There are dozens of adorable choices all over the web, from Etsy to Bauble Bar, of multi-string necklaces for people who are not exactly sure the lengths, sizes, and shapes to layer on their own. Here are seven of my favorites:
Honestly, any of these would work, but if I had to choose, either the first or the last. When I actually make the plunge and chose one of these beautiful options this inforgraphic is definitely going to be helpful in measuring where I want each layer to hit.
What do you think of the trend?

This post is making me laugh because I have the same problem. I find that my necklaces just get all tangled up in each other. Maybe they could make one necklace that looked like three necklaces giving it it the illusion of being layered…that’s what I need!

I LOVE the trend but always think I look awkward when I try it. I need to be more daring and just try it sometime. Cute pics!

I’ve always layered necklaces so I haven’t thought much about this trend but I recently picked up my first premade layered necklace and absolutely loved it. There are so many pretty options in this post but the second and last ones are my favourites.

I’m such a fan of this. I had a custom made initial necklace in rose gold made with my daughters initial and never take it off so I’m always layering by default. I’ve grown to really love it!

I love the look of dainty layered necklaces–I usually try to pull it over with a gold and teal one I have and a gold nameplate one. It’s so simple and pretty!
