With my move last week I had everything packed and two days before and ready for the movers, but there were eight beauty products I left out of the boxes and brought with me on the day of the move – the things I use everyday and that I would be lost without. While eight seems like a lot it really isn’t – four hair products and four skin products.
Now that summer has arrived I still use my usual Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine shampoo but I have switched up my conditioner to John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Enhancing Conditioner. No, I am not delusional, my hair is not blonde or anywhere close to it but I have tried half a dozen different products and this is the best one I have found to accentuate the highlights I get from the sun. My third product I use immediately after the shower, I put in John Frieda’s Extra Strength Frizz Ease. I found this product my junior year of high school and have been insanely loyal since, for someone with wavy curly hair it is a God send. The last hair product should come as no surprise – Oscar Blandi’s dry shampoo, as it earned it’s own blog post in December 2012 and was on my gift guide for what to get your best friend over Christmas.
When putting together this list of my favorite beauty products it actually shocked me that I had four must-haves in the skin department as I like to think of my skin-care regime very low maintenance. But I guess it really is not. As skin cancer runs in my family I make sure to put sun screen on my face every day, even when the forecast predicts clouds and rain. While a pale face definitely will not get me into the cool kids club it can always be combatted with bronzer and self tanner, plus skin cancer is never worth it. This is not my first plug for SPF has I mentioned it last Spring in my Beach Essentials post. I make sure I stock up on this 50+ SPF when I am at Costco and also get the jumbo box of Neutrogena Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes, which also got their own blog post in October 2012.
To round out the top eight are two Eucerin products that really did save my skin while I was a competitive swimmer and that I have not stopped using even though I no longer subject my body to the drying effects of chlorine on a regular basis. Aquaphor Healing Ointment is my go-to lip protector, lip balm, and lip gloss, and yes, I actually do have the 14 oz tub in my apartment. And even though people tend to find the Eucerin Insensitive Repair lotion too heavy and rich it is perfect for me! My top eight beauty products:

I have this Garnier product I use and love in a pump. It helps with my flyaways. Can’t remember what it’s called though.

Glad you use SPF every day…some people think they only need to use it when you got to the beach…your skin will be thanking you every day when you are older and do not have leather or brown blotchy skin…
