Today is D-Day

Yes, today is D-Day.  Today is the long awaited for day where my knee gets to stop hurting.  Yeah, so all of that metal they decided to put in there in May 2012, it all gets to come out tomorrow.  All of it.  I get to say goodbye to two plates and six screws (does that mean I will loose a pound?). The good news is, the original injury is healed so they will not have to replace the metal with anything and I no longer have to set off metal detectors.

Let me back it up a quick sec, in January 2011 Kelly gracefully drops a motorcycle on her knee.  Over the next sixteen months Kelly’s tibia (shin bone) decides to disintegrate.  In May 2012 Kelly’s doctors decided cadaver bone, two plates, and six screws were the way to go.   Now, it turns out one of those screws has decided to pop through the bone and stick into all of my muscle …. GREAT.   So yes, they get to come out.

At some point in the very near future, also known as one this afternoon, I will be having surgery and while I am sure Kelly blogging on pain killers would be quite interesting I am not going to plan on it. I have such phenomenal blogger friends who will take over Sparkles and Shoes for the rest of the week, I can not wait for you to meet these great girls.  I am so touched by the bloggy friendships I have made over the past year and a half, thank you ladies!
