Quilted Leather Jackets

Leather jackets with quilted details may not be new but they are all the rage and I am in love. These jackets broke out onto the season two and a half years ago with Lily Aldridge Burberry Prorsum Spring 2011 Quilted Leather Jacket and have remained on the fashion scene since.

But let me back up for a second.  When I started this blog at the end of last summer I had no idea where I wanted it to go and while I have not completely honed in on where Sparkles and Shoes is going fourteen months later I have decided to write about what I love and go from there – some weeks that will be all fashion and other weeks I may not have a single post about it.

I used to stick religiously to my Tuesday accessory trend posts and my Thursday apparel trend posts but I realized this is my blog and I am free to break the rules as I see fit.  And to further prove my point, my post about how I read 26 books in 52 weeks resulted in three times as many hits and twice as many comments as my average fashion post, so there! But, this post is not about that, it is about quilted leather jackets….

This  Burberry Prorsum Spring 2011 Quilted Leather Jacket as seen on Lily Aldridge is no longer available but they are many other beautiful options.  Many of these jackets have “biker” elements which I am extremely attracted to as they provide a stylish mix of masculine and feminine qualities: 
I do not know if it is just me but I like all six of these jackets and it is hard to believe that the least expensive one is $60 while the priciest one will set you back over $1,600 – crazy!  Regardless of which jacket you pick it is all up to how you style it, whether you want to look on-trend or timeless.
