Funfetti is my favorite type of cake after red velvet but let me explain how it became the topic of today’s post.  My roommates here in Brooklyn are sisters and were born three years and three days apart.  I helped each of them celebrate on their respective days – one with a weeknight sushi feast and one with a three course restaurant week lunch that left us stuffed.  I got them each presents and they each had their special days, but we decided to have a joint birthday party.  Last night was the celebration on our roof with wine and cake.  What kind of cake you ask?  Why the best kind of cake $2.39 can buy – FUNFETTI.

For those of you who do not know – I am speaking about Pillsbury Funfetti® Premium Cake Mix. This box makes a beautiful, colored cake from white cake mix and colored sprinkles.  It is very simple and very fun.  They advertise on every box that there is one cup of pudding in the mix to create an extra moist cake.  I am a big fan of both the original and the happy birthday version – all you have to do is add k one cup water, 1/3 cup oil, and three whole eggs to make a delicious cake.

Unfortunately, I have no pictures of our actual cake or the festivities but who needs those when I can show you delicious pictures of Funfetti in all of it’s variations, feast your eyes:

    That’s so awesome, I’ve always wanted to try this! If only I could find it in boxed form on this side of the world! It would be idiot-proof for me then hahaha!
