Why do I provide a Merriam-Webster definition?  Because the majority of my friends and readers seen to be confused when I say “add a cardigan to that look”.  This is not to say that options like a pull over sweater or a pashmina wrap are not great but for most outfits adding a cardigan is my favorite – such an amazing addition!   This photo was my inspiration, by Cameron Ingalls:

Bright cardigans are a great way to put a spring in your step even though we have not yet said a permanent adios to the winter weather.  If you are like me you want to pull out those warm-weather dresses but the chill of the early morning or an air conditioned subway car can stop you in your tracks.  These cardigans are great bright options to layer on your favorite options:

    I love cardigans. Especially brightly colored ones! And I love the fact that I can wear them {in my regular size} even though I’m pregnant, because I don’t have to close them. Wardrobe staple.

    I don’t really cardigans that often–I feel like they make me look “dumpy” (don’t ask me why), but I love all the bright colors you chose here. There’s one for every day of the month!

    Nice post! And cardigans are just the best. My coworkers son recently got married and the bridesmaids wore cardigans over their dresses. So chic.

    I *love* cardigans. I have a white one and a grey one. I’m a teacher, so they go with everything; and they are easy to throw on over sundresses. I love this idea of colored cardigans…I need to branch out from the white and the grey!
