My all-time favorite book is the Prisoner of Birth, a mystery novel by British author Jeffrey Archer. My favorite trilogy is by the late Swedish author Stieg Larsson who wrote the crime series consisting of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, and The Girl Who Played with Fire. This is closely followed by Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games. My favorite book-to-movie crossovers are The Help and the Devil Wears Prada because Hollywood did not totally destroy when they adapted it into a movie. There are many classics that I also enjoy reading including The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye, and A Tale of Two Cities.
Ultimately, my favorite author is James Patterson because I am almost guaranteed to like any book he writes. Every thriller, nonfiction and romance novels I have read by him has been a true page-turner. I have truly enjoyed his Alex Cross series along with those novels he was written about Michael Bennett and the Women’s Murder Club. This is not to say I have read every book he has written but as he is one of my parents favorites author’s I get books as a hand-me downs, the onetime newer isn’t always better.
