Canadian Showcase at London Fashion Week

I shared a sneak preview of this showcase in my Snaps from London Fashion Week but as there were so many designers whose work was on display I wanted to give it it’s own review. The world has gotten a bit hectic but as I shared, I want Sparkles and Shoes to be a a place of escape and now more than ever it is important to support small businesses and that includes emerging designers.  In February the first show of London Fashion Week I went to was called a Celebration of Canadian Designers featuring pieces from eight brands; Alan Anderson, Arnieri, David Dixion, Hania Kuzbari, Msichana Inc., Shelli Oh, Studio Lorem Ipsum, and Vandal.    

All of these brands are part of the Toronto Fashion Incubator and were the eight were picked to exhibit in London this season.    The show was put on in collaboration with the Trade Commissioner Service of Global affairs Canada  and the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom, hence the show being held in the Canadian mission off Trafalgar Square.  You may recall I also went to this event last September and this season was even better!  The event took place in a grand ballroom and as well as a normal runway show there were tables where each designer showed a handful of their pieces and it was a great chance to meet the designers.  Two of my favorites were Hania Kuzbari Jewelry Designs and Shelli Oh which you can see below. Overall it was a great evening and I especially love shows that feature work by a number of designers.  I am still following quite a few of them on Instagram and can not wait for the show next season!  Thank you for the Pop PR team for the invite!
