It is hard to believe it but last month, August 2023, I walked more than 150 miles with Lily. You can check it out on my Strava because for the entire month, I did not wear a watch! I have been tracking my steps for years and after we walked 25,000 steps in one day – likely my record – in Rome in October 2020 I had a brand new Apple Watch waiting for me when I came home. It was such a kind birthday presents from my parents and an item I have worn nearly every day since. Tracking my fitness helped me get in great shape for my wedding in 2021 though I did take it off a few weeks before to make sure I did not get a tan line from it.
By why this title? Well, when coming back from the US just after the 4th of July I left my Apple Watch at the airport security check at Boston Logan. It was quite an ordeal to get it back but at the end of the day only cost $24 (I feared it would be much more) and after being shipped to my parents house my mom handed it back to me last week. Of course it was dead but now that it is back on it is not only great to have the time on my wrist again but get back to sleep tracking, fitness tracking, and being able to quickly see messages. It has made more Fashion Friday posts than I can recall and “apple watch” has been mentioned 52 times on the blog, including in numerous gift guides. Over the last three years I have had a number of bands with it and below you can see an assortment but it is tie between my favorites, the white sport for Summer and gold for the colder months. The best upclose shots are ones where I have recorded and wanted to document days with a crazy amount of walking or exercise.

The White Silicone Sports Apple Watch Strap
The white band has definitely been in quite a few sporty looks but I have also worn it out and about quite a bit. I was actually surprised how many Fashion Friday posts I took it off for but I guess that was probably a good thing.

Arguably the more fashionable of my two favorites take a look at many of the more stylish places I have worn my Apple Watch and the outfits I have paired it with – from Winter plaid to light dresses in Summer sunshine. The pictures below are from Charleston, Cornwall, Chicago, Naples, and London – this watch sure gets around!

And a few shots in the OG Official Blue Apple Blue Solo Loop which came with my watch. I wore this band almost exclusively from when I got it to when it snapped on our trip to the Lake District in May 2021.

If you made it through all the text and the 26 photos above, bravo, I think you get the sense I really like my Apple watch. And if my two favorite bands are not for you Apply has a whole section of their website page dedicated to the different type of Apple Watch bands they sell. However, I must mention that only my first band, the one that came with the watch, was from the brand itself, the rest were from Amazon!

I just got one for my mom for the fall protection.
She is older and won’t wear one of those life protection things as she doesn’t think she is old enough. She lives alone and I am always so afraid that she will fall and maybe black out or can’t get to a phone and be alone for a long time. One of my friends just told me about this feature and I talked my mom into getting one.
So relived

I am thinking of getting one…what are the top features that you like about it?
Not sure if I want to take the plunge?
