Mixing Up Wedding Tuxes

06/10/21 | assorted, wedding, wedding planning

I am trying not to share too many things about the wedding that I have purchased because I want it to be a surprise. I have my shoes, but I have not featured them. We picked a guest book, flower arch, table numbers, and more but you will have to wait until October 30th or later to see them! However, today’s post is a bit of a spoiler alert and it has to do with Mark’s outfit. In the Fall, as we prepared for our May wedding, Mark and I went tux shopping and while we did not originally plan on it, he got a navy tux.

This past weekend as we went through our wedding planning checklist I talked to him about the groomsmen outfits and we confirmed they are wearing black. This may not seem like a logical choice as navy and black don’t traditionally mix but for wedding tuxes I love the combination. I feel like the bride get’s to stand out against her bridesmaids and I want Mark to really pop against the other boys, no matter where he is in a photo or line up

And in case the mixed tux look is not for you there are also some very pretty traditional wedding tuxes which I have pulled together here, here, here, and here.

What do you think of these mixed wedding tuxes?

You certainly help me keep current with the latest trends.

This one has not hit Canada yet that I know of. Since most of the weddings I was going to attend have been rescheduled with no end in sight here in Canada, glad I will be prepared if this comes up.

Too funny, my girlfriend and I have been debating this back-and-forth. I just showed her all your photos of the different looks . I think I might have just convinced her.

The navy against the black really does pop in photos!

A couple of these photos shows off the look really well, I especially like the night photo.

I have not seen this in the weddings I have gone to. Not sure what I think about it. I guess there is no confusion who the groom is though.

    What do you think?

I would have never thought of mixing wedding tuxedos but you are right, the effect is beautiful.
