Sometimes things really do not work out how you plan them. Going into our family trip last month we were planning to take family photos at Fisherman’s Bastion in Budapest. Having taken photos there in 2015 I was quite excited to go back and take photos with my family. However, a combination of a 7am shoot time (2am body time for my family) and pouring rain meant we had to call that off.
Then as a plan B I went on a mission to buy a temporary tripod (I left my good one at home) and got to Schönbrunn Palace in Inna about 15 minutes earlier than planned for the second attempt at our our Christmas card photo. Because of the shooting mode on my DSLR we ended up with more than 200 shots, narrowed it down to the best 8, and had a family favourite. So we should have been done, right? Well, a few days later on our Sound of Music Bike Tour the clouds parted outside the xxx abbey and our tour guide offered to take a family photo.
I think it was because I was posing and my Dad and brother were laughing hysterically at me that we got a good shot . So thus our third attempt actually ended up being the photo – however, the silver lining there is that we got some great shots at Schönbrunn that can be framed and I got a few of me as well – and these are the ones I am sharing with you today!
And then a few of the family shots that did not make the Christmas card cut:
Have you already taken your holiday card photo?
