To end my trip to Bali I spent the weekend in Singapore on the way back to London. My overall impression was that it is very much like Stepford wives and not really what I think other Asian capitals are going to be like – but I will just have to see! When I was putting together my “must see” list the Marina Bay Sands Singapore kept popping up – both the hotel and the gardens!
I started with the Marina Bay Sands Singapore Hotel, gorgeous hotel with more than 2,5000 rooms stunning rooftop – both one for non hotel guests and one for only those staying there. As my hotel was a few miles away I bought the ticket to visit the Observation Deck and with my ticket bought a discounted Singapore Sling which I turned in my voucher for at the Cé La Vi, 80 floors up. It was so warm when I was in Singapore that when they asked me if I want the drink frozen I could not say yes fast enough. The views of both the bay and harbor were gorgeous from that high up and I had such a great time, even though I was by myself. The only thing I would change is that I would come back and stay one night at the hotel (just so i could go to the pool) because the idea of swimming in the world’s largest rooftop Infinity Pool has a huge allure to me.
After the roof I navigated my way through the massive hotel and over the Butterfly Bridge to the Gardens by the Bay. Located next to Marina Bay Sands Singapore, this attraction spans nearly 300 acres and features award-winning conservatories but my favorite was the iconic Supertrees. There are eighteen Supertrees in Gardens which you can clearly see in my photos below and 12 of them are located in a cluster in the middle of the Gardens by the Bay called the Supertree Grove. Take a look:
Both of these attractions are gorgeous and I would highly recommend – and just like I want to go back to the Marina Bay Sands Singapore and stay at the hotel I also want to go back to the Gardens by the Ba for the twilight light show!
