The Heineken Tour in Amsterdam

11/01/18 | Amsterdam, Europe, Netherlands, Travel

Amsterdam Heineken Experience - Heineken Brewery

For a girl that does not drink beer I am writing about my third beer factory tour in a third European country – some might say I a on my way to being converted to a beer drinker but they should know better.  (You may remember by Guinness Tour in Dublin, Ireland or my  Bourgogne des Flandres in Bruges, Belgium).  Beer is still not my favorite but I am all about the expense and touring the original Heineken Factory – aptly named the Heineken Experience is definitely a must when you are in Amsterdam.   I have now been four times in as many months but I visited on my first trip with my brother on our way home from Africa.

You get a green stretchy bracelet (think Live Strong) with two green buttons attached to it, each good for a drink.  They can be turned in at the end of the tour where either you can pull your own pint – which clearly Kevin and I did – or you can have it poured for your. Take a look at the hour and a half we spent exploring the brewery which is more of an alcoholic museum:

Great idea to get names engraved on the glasses. Special touch and I hope that they didn’t break on the way home.

Looks like a lot of fun and will have to go there when I am in Amsterdam in June for a girls trip.

    FUN!!

You and your brother look adorable. How nice to see you traveling together.

I went there over 30 years ago and it was fantastic. Looks like they have done quite and upgrade to the place and added some more hands on opportunities. Hope you had as wonderful a time as I did.

    Also Amsterdam is amazing!

Looks like so much fun. My boyfriend will be really into this as it is his favorite beer.

We are going there next May and will add it to our must see bucket list.
