Feeling Blue in Diane von Furstenberg

New York Fashion Week has finally come to an end and is bad to say I am excited to sleep? This year it just happens that I was in town for the entire duration – something that has not happened for the past five seasons – and while still going to work every day I managed to squeeze a lot in.  It is still on my bucket list to attend Kate Spade, Christian Siriano, Michael Kors, and Diane Von Furstenberg but slowly but surely I am getting there. 

As this weekend is President’s Day weekend and many people are off work the majority of my friends are out of town – in fact my brother sent the family a note yesterday that he arrived safely in Mexico!  For once though, I am staying put and looking forward to a low-key, quiet weekend but that does not mean I am not dreaming of warmer temperatures.  Speaking of warmer temperatures, please look at this gorgeous DVF dress – the color of this dress just does everything for me. It reminds me of the dress I wore a few years ago to my cousin’s rehearsal dinner in Nashville – just a more sophisticated and grown up version.

I decided to pair it with these earrings and it is amazing how much difference a cloud, crossing the sky in the picture above, changes the coloring of these photos – take a look at the no cloud ambiance when it was bright and sunny like the photo below! 

Now that I am back on track with my fitness goals the fitted waist of this dress is something I really appreciate it and why reinvent the wheel when DVF herself called it, “a universally flattering nipped-in silhouette” and I have to agree.  Plus it is in my favorite color, royal blue, so there really is no going back!
