The June Dress Project

Today is the first day of June and the first day of my June dress project. What? You have not heard of it before? Well, that would make sense, seeing as I just made it up. 🙂 As a challenge to myself this month, for the entire month of June, I am going to wear a dress to work every day. This is not unusual as in the summer I mostly wear dresses but the part that will make this unique – for all 22 workdays I will not re-wear a dress. You have that many dresses? Is the first question I have been asked by the few friends I have shared this challenge with – and yes – the answer is yes. About ten are in frequent rotation so this will make me reach for the ones I don’t often wear and give me at least 12 hours ten hours to decide if they still deserve a place on a coveted black velvet hanger.

And yes, you did read that correctly, I have 22 dresses.  Actually, to be fair, I have more than 22 dresses in my New York City apartment but some – including ball gowns or casual beach dresses – are even a bit too outside the lines for my casual work place.  And because it is not a real challenge without photos – I will be documenting my looks Monday through Friday and sharing June Dress Project updates with you here on the blog!  One dress that will definitely be worn this month is this pretty 101 Dalmatians inspired number that is my go-to for a polished by summer business look.

I am very excited to get this project underway.  The last time I did something like this was February: A Month in Bracelets in February 2013 where I posted daily on Instagram.  Now, more than two years later, daily Instagrams might be a bit much so now the question is – how often should I check in?   A blog post every week?  Social media posts?  Daily Snapchat updates?  You tell me!
