A few months ago I was introduced to matcha and it has quickly become one of my favorite things. For those of you unfamiliar, matcha is a finely ground powder version of green tea and one cup has ten times the nutrients and 137 times the amount of antioxidants of a conventional cup of green tea. Crazy, right? The powder has been used for thousands and thousands of years but only this year has broken away from the Japanese tea world and become a 2015 food craze.
Besides brewing a cup and sipping away there are a plethora of dishes you can create using the powder and still get your nutrients in. If you have never tried it, I highly recommend it and why not with one of these amazing matcha recipes? From pancakes and waffles to pastries and cocktails this green powder can be incorporated everywhere!

Chocolate Matcha Butter Cups
Matcha Pancakes
Matcha Green Tea Fudge Protein Bars
Matcha Chia Pudding Parfait
Matcha Waffles
When my apartment finally has the gas restored, and please do not get me started on when that will be, I am eager to try out a few of these matcha recipes, especially the pancakes one. I think the great taste combined with the jolt of caffeine would be amazing!
What is your favorite matcha recipe?

These all sound really good, but I’m a visual eater and they are green. And a weird green at that. Change the powder to a different color and I’d be sold. Does anyone remember the green ketchup that was out years ago? I bought some but never could even bring myself to try it.
