Style Icon: Amal Clooney

I have been on the fence for months but the her red Maison Margiela Couture gown by John Galliano at last week’s Met Gala pushed me over the edge, my latest Style Icon is Amal Clooney. The  London-based lawyer of British and Lebanese is not only married to one of Hollywood’s leading men but she has a day job that would put most others to shame. She is a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers, specializing in international law, criminal law, human rights, and extradition.

But really, since last summer she has been Mrs. George Clooney which is all anyone wants to talk about.  As my mom said, I am glad he married someone with some smarts.  As George said in an interview last week, his wife works tremendously hard while looking beautiful,  “And she does it while she’s got 11 cases going—literally, so she’s an amazing woman.” Here are some of my favorite Amal looks:
