My Sweetheart VoxBox 2013

With this blog I have discovered many different areas of cyberspace I never knew excited (BlogLovin) but some of the my favorite moments have been from the most basic, email. The second best email, I have received in the past few weeks, the first was when Courtney Kerr emailed me back,was a note I received one evening titled, “You’ve Qualified for an Influenster VoxBox! IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED” At first I thought it was spam – I only signed for Infuenster around New Years and I know some people wait months and even years for a VoxBox, I can not be that important. Well, thank you lovely people at Influenster!

I got the box Monday night, tweeted about it, and then within 24 hours used all of the products and here is what I think. Keep in mind that I obviously “I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes but here are my options of the ~~four~~ five items in my box:

Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

I was definitely intrigued reading this product description; “Rock a sexy beach look even on those days you’re not at the beach! Infused with natural Dead sea and sea kelp, Beach Babe helps create voluminous texturized and wind-swept waves” and as soon as I was done reading I put it in my freshly washed post-gym damp hair. I then used it again to revitalize my strands in the morning. I could not place the smell but it was extremely pleasant. However, I am not rating this product a five because I am not sure how much different my hair would have looked had I not used it, but it did lead to a great hair day, and when a full size bottle is only six dollars, I can handle that! Bottom Line: 4.5/5 Smelled amazing and worked even better!

{Va-Va-Vivid!} Powered Contour Cleansing System AND

{Shine, Shine Go Away!} Sine Minimizing Cleanser

On the cute sheet these products are listed as two different things but as they came in the same box and are used together I have reviewed them together. I was skeptical that the little brush would work as described, “A vibrating tri-tip facial cleansing brush that packs some punch! …reaches deep into contours, liberating skin from dirt, oil, and makeup in hard-to-reach places for a clean that is 400% better than basic cleansing.” But I was pleasantly surprised and when used with cleanser my pores really were smaller in the morning, as promised! The brush is $13 (comes with the battery installed) and the cleanser is $7 for the full size. I do not think I will be using this daily, as suggested, but a few times a week, and I am SO excited. I will definitely buy more cleanser when this tube is up! Bottom Line: 5/5 Amazing, and I never knew I needed it!

Clinical Strength Stress Response in Serene Citrus

Let me start off by saying this is a product I would have never purchased. I do not consider myself a particularly sweaty person (thus, not needing clinical strength and in general I DESPISE scented deodorants I much prefer any scent I am omitting to come from my neck and wrists via perfume than from my underarms. When I peeled the sticker off the the top to apply the deodorant before bedtime (which in my option is very strange) I was shocked at how pungent it was. After applying it smelled like I had just peeled an orange, wiped it all over my shirt and then forgot to wash my hands. I attempted to in gore it and went to bed. In the morning it was out of mind, as the smell had greatly dissipated, and I did think about it until I went to put deodorant on and remembered I already had it! Throughout my non-particularly stressful day at work I did not notice the smell and I am assuming it worked? The claim that sweaty sweat smells more and that this product is, “proven 4x more effective at protecting against stress-induced underarm wetness” may be true but I had no real way to test it and the initial assault of citrus was VERY over powering. My favorite part of the product was actually the quote on the top of the box, “Don’t stress the small stuff”, cute! Bottom Line: 3.5/5 Nice, but not necessary

Daily-On-The-Go Bars

I can see how people who really like the SkinnyGirl would but this, and ordinarily I would be one of those people – the Skinny Girl ready to serve cocktails, especially the White Cranberry Cosmo, are delicious but the bar didn’t do it for me. The description said, “With only 180 calories per bar, you can enjoy Skinnygirl Daily On-The-Go bars guilt-free.” I beg to differ, being someone who watches their girlish figure 180 calories is not a menial amount. While eating it I did not taste the kosher, protein or fiber aspects but there was good crunch. However, it was very heavy and dense bar which left my mouth extremely parched and was not in love with the flavor – too much going on that it becomes nondescript. For my afternoon snack I think I will continue to reach for a piece of fruit or my trusty go-to Fiber One bar (which has DOUBLE as many calories as this SG alternative and 40 less calories)! Bottom Line: 3/5 Close, but no cigar!
