Every year one of the primere authorities in color picks one of the thousands of colors from their collection and names it as the color of the year. In 2013 it was emerald, in 2014 it was radiant orchid, two years ago it was marsala, and last year there were two, serenity blue and rose quartz. It is that time of year again and last week Pantone has announced the 2017 color of the year and it is Greenery. They define it on their website as, “A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.. Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”
I was going to try and paraphrase it but I will quote it directly fro the source because I’m not quite that creative. even though it was only announced last week it was not such an odd color that a plethora of items don’t exist in this shade. Take a look at my a handful of items that fit the Pantone Greenery theme:
10 | Nina Fraser Satin Pumps $89
11 | Ray-Ban RB 4222 6169/3R Green Rubber Round Plastic Sunglasses $80
12 | Tropic Green iPhone 7 Case $55
And though the product is not actually green, the packaging is and I love the Sephora Collection Sleeping Mask in Green Tea with Mattifying & Anti-blemish which is amazing and only $4, take a look! Also, this year in the same article Pantone featured 10 color palettes showing how greenery works well with other colors and these two are my favorite:
What do you think of Pantone Greenery?
