Sparkles and Shoes third birthday is coming up at the beginning of August and I can not believe it. After one year of blogging I bought a new dress, a few balloons, and took a handful of photos to celebrate. 12 months later Sparkles and Shoes had grown so much that I through my blog a birthday party. More than a dozen friends came to my Upper Eastside apartment and helped me celebrate with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine, and red velvet cupcakes. I am happy to say the party was a smashing success, however, now I have to try and top it.
I have already created a tentative shopping list to make the types of food I want to serve and picked up two specialty six packs of beer when they were on sale the grocery store. The one thing I’m drawing a blank on is what the drink of the night should be. For my classy cocktail party in April I made a sparkling citrus concoction which went over well and I am thinking of creating a similar light, refreshing beverage for the birthday party. I do know that I want to serve something pink and the combination of Pinterest, my favorite food blogs, and Google helped me narrow it down to these seven:
