It is October and that means pumpkin overload! Pumpkin patches, pumpkin seeds and pumpkin pies. I have the fondest memories of going upstate every October to go apply picking and a trip was never complete without a visit to a farmer’s store across the road that made the best pumpkin cheesecake I have ever tasted. While upstate New York is not in the cards in the next few weeks I can still get my pumpkin fix other places.
As the weather turns colder which means bundling up, I am so excited how many pumpkin’ flavored foods and drinks I have to choose from this season – I love how this is the time of year to celebrate this big, sweet and juicy garden vegetable. Here are a few of my favorites:
Besides the taste I also really like the color – I can’t pull it off, but I can admire from a distance. And, as an added bonus, it is a super power antioxidant and it is packed with Vitamin C and the seeds have tons of protein, iron, and Vitamin E . Lastly, how cool are Jack-O-Laterns?
