Speaking on the phone Tuesday night with one of my good friends in Utah I guess I can not complain that it is “cold” here when cold in the Rockies that means negative temperatures, but these thirty degree mornings in New York City are getting to me. I find myself bundling every morning and while I power walk to work I have been noticing tons of adorable toggle jackets. Over the past month I have seen them in almost every color and material imaginable and I have fallen in love with the look! I have tried on at least a dozen and have searched long and hard to find you my favorites:
These five jackets are my top picks but how you style them is up to you but I really suggest keeping it simple. The first thing about toggle coats is simplicity – the toggles should be the part that stands out – I think the outerwear pieces work best with a neutral bottoms and a detailed top which creates a polished look both on the sidewalk and in the office (or date night or the playground or church or drinks).
I think they really are one of the few winter coats that are functional and fashionable – you can show off your curves while insulating them. Who says you can’t be warm AND stylish?
