One of my favorite additions to my apartment in the last few weeks has been the NEST Holiday Scented Candle. I love the scent and unlike the candles I usually buy that melt quickly, after half a dozen uses this is still way above 75% full. That is the thing about nice candles, it is a bit nuts in my opinion to spend $40 on a candle but they sure do last! And I am not the only one – a few weeks ago I walked into one of my old teammate’s apartments just before Christmas and I jokingly congratulated him that his roommate cleaned because it smelled so fresh. It turns out the amazing scent was all due to a Rosy Rings candle, a luxury candles brand I had not heard of before. He let me know it was the forest botanical scent and he was so excited to have found these amazing candles he got two – and showed me the spicy pear that he was excited to burn next.
Now I grew up in a house with Yankee Candles and my brother and I loved picking out the scents and deciding which ones to burn first (Buttercream, Spiced Pumpkin, and Christmas Cookie are still my favorite) but I have never seen a grown man this excited about candles. It seems times are changing! I received this NEST candle, which I actually posted on Instagram last week, as a gift and I think that luxury candles are a great option for someone who is hard to buy for. Here are six I like:
I almost put the Tory Burch Ceaderwood Candle ($66) on the list but I don’t want to recommend it as I have not smelled it in person and while it is highly likely I would like it I am leaving it off just in case. Along with the one above Diptyque candles have made it in to a number of posts over the years, you can find the six of them here!
Before we say goodbye for the day I will leave you with a parting thought – while spending over $50 for a single candle might be expensive I found ones ten times that, but it seemed too preposterous to even include here, like the Baobab Collection Madagascar Vanilla Scented Candle which is $510 for only one candle!
Do you agree that luxury candles make good gifts?
