There is a general rule in Florida, you do not wear black. That becomes a bit of an issue because the majority of my wardrobe is black but for Christmas Eve dinner with my family I found something that mixed my very dark closet with a spot of Florida sunshine. I picked up this pink orchid dress in Cape Cod two summers ago and it has been sitting at the back of my closet since and I figured this trip to Florida would be a good time to for it’s maiden voyage.
I chose to pair the floral dress with a high bun, BaubleBar Crystal View Earrings, pale pink nails, a David Yurman classic cable bracelet, black peep-toe pumps, and my new Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Mini Affair Bag – a nice mix of the Big Apple and the Sunshine State.
After a few photos in front of my parent’s tree with all of the adorable homemade ornaments we headed off to dinner. My parents and brother were kind enough to humor me with a family photo in the sitting room before we our delicious Christmas Eve feast.
If you have been around Sparkles and Shoes a while you will know every holiday I spend in Florida is filled with fresh seafood and Christmas Eve was no exception. The King Crab claws and oysters were absolutely amazing as was the wine, the company, and the rest of the meal – cheers!
How did you spend Christmas Eve?
