I have wanted to create a gallery wall for ages now and over the weekend I finally framed the last few prints and hung it up over my bed. I posted last May about my inspiration for a gallery wall. I was thinking I would not have enough room in my studio apartment for a statement gallery wall and it was just another selling point for this apartment that it had room for me to create one!
Although there are plenty of gallery wall picture frame sets I decided to create my own, picking up an assortment of 5×7, 8×10, and 11×14 frames. I knew that my prints would be a combination of horizontal and vertical along with typography, photographs, and mixed media, and thus I went with a skinny black frames. These are the prints I decided to hang:
I started the collection of these prints at the end of the summer so some of them are no longer available but for the ones that are; Terrifying and Amazing Print c/o, Take Me to the Sea print, Semicolon Print c/o, custom Georgetown map print, and Be So Good print.
After all of my prints were framed I laid them out in a tentative order on my carpet, took a picture on my iPad, and got to work hanging them with different size nails depending on the size of the frame.
Without further ado, the finished wall:
And for some perspective, the before and after of the space.
Of all of the pieces my favorite, hands down, is this signed Christian Siriano sketch, isn’t it beautiful?
I am so pleased with how this gallery wall turned out!
