When a rep from the company reached out and said I could pick a pair of my very own I pretty much a kid at Christmas. I picked the pair with the big bow on it, of course, their Women’s Premium Rain Boot in Navy (here).
I once read a poem which said there is no other place in the world like New York City in the snow but enjoy it in the moment as the beauty is fleeting, it is gone in 15 minutes. I whole heartedly agree. Snow in this city falls, is white momentarily, and then either melts or starts to turn gray. (All of you Utah bloggers, I am jealous of your pretty snow!) The day after a snow storm NYC takes slush to a whole new level and you can not cross the street without stepping in a massive puddle – splish, splash and rain boots to the rescue!
Trying to take cute pictures of your self wearing wellies is actually very difficult. Especially when it is dark every night when you come home from work. These are my best attempts.
The idea for this post came from my commute yesterday; I took the subway home, stopped by the grocery store and wanted nothing more then to make it up the stairs so I could put everything down and watch House of Cards. Then, when I saw the FedEx notice on the apartment door I had to put everything down and fish for a pen. To my surprise it was the FIRST thing I grabbed, and, I grabbed two of them. So much for never having one on me – I guess my mom is finally rubbing off on me! When I finally signed and made up the four flights of stairs I began wondering what else was in my bag. Well, now you all get to find out!
A random assortment of things, but some of my favorites including the two pens that inspired this post. I honestly do not know what I would do without Aquaphor and my key chain makes me smile every time I see it. And Allie, I am pretty sure you do not read this blog, but thank you so much for introducing me to no-damage hair ties as they are truly a life saver.
My sunglasses are from who knows where, I will never be one of those girls with designer shades, they scratch much too easily. More business cards, surprise, surprise, and just the normal contents of my wallet – my NY license, New York Public Library card and Konditori coffee shop make them uniquely NYC. Oh, and I hit Sephora Rouge last month, I am very proud!

seven // Le Creuset Caribbean Mug in Turquoise
eight// Pink Octopus Ceramic Coffee Mug with Tentacle Handle

I am leaning towards the eat cake for breakfast mug or the octopus one because I will surely be the only one in the office with that one. I may get some grief from it but I purposely did not include these Anthropologie monogram mugs -they are adorable but the handle is just so unpractical! They do make for a cute pencil holder though!
