It’s true, I am on the hunt. No, not hunting animals or searching for a boyfriend in this crazy city but hunting the best fashion finds. (I work in advertising though and I am pretty sure even our senior copy writer would think that line was witty)! Every once in a while a website comes along that changes things and I am so excited to be introducing you to one of those today. The Hunt: The Cure For Outfit Envy. The Hunt is a community that tracks down the items you covet but don’t know where to find or how to style.
For example, you found something you love on Pinterest and you click on the image to find out more and either the link is dead, it is sold out, or it is too expensive. Well, here comes The Hunt iPhone app to the rescue! I have been using the website for some time now and today is the official launch of their free iPhone app with a new and improved look and feel:
Now let me tell you, starting and solving hunts has been proving an entertaining way to spend downtime. Before I started a hunt of my own I solved one – someone posted an Instagram pic of a girl drinking BluePrint Juice and asked where to buy it. I gave her the link and got three gems for it! A few days later when I was on Pinterest I found these necklaces with no link and thus started a hunt. These are the results:
I do not know how Lexy was able to find where these necklaces were from but I am super impressed and from the app it is so easy to go and by them. Good for me, bad for my wallet. I asked the community to find “this look exactly” but you can also request “similar to this” or “this look for less”.
The feature of the app that sucks up the most amount of my time is following other people’s “hunts”. This is when someone else uploads an item and asks the community where they can find it. If you want to know too you can “follow” the hunt and you are notified when it is found. Here are some of the hunts I am currently following.
One thing I do pride myself on here at S and S is complete honestly. Comparing the website to the app, it all came up smelling roses except
I am bummed that there is not a search feature. I am sure that will come with time. The new version, launched at midnight, has search, yay! Oh, and that I can not tell all of you lovely non-iPhone people about it because right now it is not on Driod or Blackberry. Overall though, I do not accept sponsorships or endorse products I do not believe in. This one far exceeds the bar. Now go download The Hunt app and once you do I really would appreciate if someone wants to find these adorable coasters for me please I would very much appreciate it!
Need a better look? Here they are!
Ready? Set? Go Hunt!
