Hurricane Sandy was the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season, as well as the second-costliest hurricane in United States history. It was unbelievably scary and at some points the wind whipping through New York City really did feel like it was blowing at 115 mph.
Hurricane Sandy has officially arrived! My apartment is on the border of Zone A and Zone B in terms of evacuation and the wind has been crazy all day, but the rain has now arrived. Mayor Bloomberg on his address said that he will be shutting the power off to lower Manhattan with all of the flooding.
I took these two photos on my phone 20 minutes apart of the major intersection I live on. The car alarms keep going off as the vehicles slowly become submerged. I will continue taking photos but I will likely loose power any minute. I will upload when it is all over and that is all for now!
Stay Safe in Sandy!
