This morning I was so excited to share with you all the success of my first juice cleanse, the Renovation level from Blue Print, however, this did not go as planned. I am pretty bummed that I cannot report about my success at this (I was even keeping a diary of my experience to share with you all) this but when I got to the point where I was experiencing more than half of the side effects I decided it was time to stop early. I am NOT a quitter, but seriously, these were not fun – take a look here if you don’t believe me.
Instead, I am going to look on the bright side – today is my favorite day of the week and I am wearing one of my favorite pair of shoes – my low silver and metallic wedges I bought two summers ago in Rome. They are an essential part of my wardrobe and I am so excited I can finally wear them without tights. I picked them for today especially as they are great shoes to travel in tonight I am headed straight from work to the airport for my mini-vacation in Florida!
Usually when I post about shoes, of which this is the 24th pair in my closet I have featured (check them all out here) I give you other options of similar styles and colors that I think are similar to the pair in my closet but today I just can not do that because these are too special. They are not some designer label or a one of a kind but they are special to me. I got these shoes while studying abroad in Rome and while they are cute, fun, and fashionable they have a story and a meaning behind them – weeks of amazing food, wine, stories, laughter, sunburns, and all around great memories.
Instead of sharing with you other shoes like these I am going to give you a peek into the trip I was on when I purchased them – please enjoy these photos of my travel abroad in Rome. The course was called “The Ancient City of Rome” and it was two week class studying Archaeology, History, and Culture. The short, cute girl in these photos is my now roommate Kitty.
Happy Friday and I hope you have a great weekend!
