Leather Stiletto Boots & Fashion Week

I know in the social media world Thursday is the day famous for "throwbacks" or TBT's but I am going to switch it up and do a throwback post of Friday.  We are less than a week away from the start of the Fall 2013 runways shows at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week here in New York City.  How is this a throwback you asked?  Well I bought these leather boots when I attended the Fall 2008 shows in February of that year and they are still in great rotation in my wardrobe (thanks to the cobbler). 

I have always been a very serious student but when I got the opportunity to attend fashion week and write about it, school was the last thing on my mind.  On a very cold day in February I played hooky and  took the train to Manhattan and made my way the famous tents at Bryant Park - bottom line, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is a truly magnificent event! And I guess it could even count as academic because I wrote an article about the show and my experience which you can find here.  Unfortunately I have no pictures of me wearing the boots but here are some photos of my amazing day attending the men's Nautica show and going backstage to meet the models and the creative director. 

Oh and to top it all off I met Chris Noth (AKA MR. BIG!!!) backstage but unfortunately it was while I was interviewing the company's creative director so I did not manage to get a photo of him.  Bummer. But it was still an amazing experience!  

By the way, it is the first day of February and I am giving myself a challenge, instead of buying more jewelry I am going to try and wear a different bracelet from my collection every day, take a photo, and then post all of the 28 at the end of month! Wish me luck!
