Tuesday Trend: Colored Leather Gloves

I have made it clear from the beginning that this blog is not political and I will NEVER share my political affiliation with my readers, however, sometimes I can not steer away from political figures who have great style, like Jackie O.  Today is no different - the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, certainly knows how to rock colored leather gloves, seen here yesterday at the presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. 

From a White House official via the pool report:  " The First Lady is wearing a navy Thom Browne coat and dress.  The fabric was developed on the style of man's silk tie. The belt and gloves she is wearing are from J. Crew and her earrings are designed by Cathy Waterman.  She is also wearing Reed Krakoff boots.  At the end of the Inaugural festivities, the outfit and accompanying accessories will go to the National Archives." 
But the First Lady is no stranger to colored gloves, seen here in 2009 and in 2011 respectively. 



Michelle Obama's gloves have really inspired me and these are my nine favorites 
from Valentino and Lavin to Asos and Target:

  24. There were SO many leather gloves for sale in the markets when I lived in Florence, but I wasn't into them then. Now of course, I'm kicking myself for not grabbing a zillion pairs (they were so cheap!). I love all of the colored options, especially the yellow ones!

    I live in San Francisco, so I haven't worn gloves of any sort in years. However, we're going to Tahoe soon for a weekend, and I'll definitely need to get a pair before then. I love the first pair you featured with the gold!

  52. I reaaaaaaaaaally am not a fan of this trend! I think leather gloves should be left to Cruella Deville haha. I have seen some fashion bloggers I follow wearing them and I just don't like it, although some of the gloves ARE cute.

  54. I love the gloves and the different colors. But, I really think the gloves are from Talbots and not J. Crew. I have purchased the two pair like the ones Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Robinson have on.
