I am not a very crafty person but one thing I have promised myself in 2013 is to try and actually make some of the cute things I see on Pinterest. (My boards are here) Last month when I saw these adorable Pretzel Buttons I thought they were so cute and that I decided I could make them holiday themed. The main reason I thought I could handle these buttons were because there are three ingredients and they are pretty to look at, quick, easy, and provide one of my favorite combinations, salty and sweet!
Ingredients:
- Square Pretzels
- Hershey Kisses
- Plain M&M's
Directions:
- Preheat Oven to 200 degrees
- Line the cookie sheet with wax paper
- Bake for 4-5minutes until chocolate is shiny and soft
- Take the cookie tray out of the oven
- Carefully place an M&M in the center of each hug and press it down
- Place tray in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to allow the pretzels to cool
Here are my photos of making my Pretzel Buttons
I decided to do both dark and milk chocolate regular Hershey Kisses. For an extra twist I also used Hershey Kiss Hugs which cooks for about 2 minutes less because they melt sooner!
I decided to not place wax paper on the tray, simply placed the pretzels down.
I had the oven light on and checked the pretzels very frequently. The instructions said four to five minutes but I found it took more like seven or eight minutes fro the chocolate to become soft and shiny. I had an excellent helper in the form of my younger brother, Kevin, who also ate all of the ones that didn't "look" good and to test and see if they were poisoness.
Our guests loved them at our holiday Desert and Drinks party and so did my family!
Have you ever seen something on Pinterest and decided to make it? How did it turn out?
